Frequently asked questions
How many concurrent participants can each plan handle?
Starter supports up to 50 concurrent participants, Business up to 150, and Enterprise is unlimited via a multi-bridge setup. Call quality depends on available bandwidth as well as participant count.
Can calls be recorded, and where are recordings stored?
Recording to S3-compatible object storage is included on Business and Enterprise plans. Recordings are stored in your instance's dedicated S3 bucket; no video data passes through shared infrastructure.
Do participants need to install anything to join a call?
No. Jitsi Meet is entirely browser-based. Participants click a link and join; there is no account, app download, or plugin required.
What is the Apache-2.0 license, and does it affect how I use the service?
Apache-2.0 is a permissive license with no copyleft requirements, so running Jitsi Meet as a managed service is fully permitted without any obligation to publish your configuration.
